As to the "real" breasts that women were claimed to have had....although plastic surgery using implants wasn't a breast enhancement available to women back in the day....certainly flat chested women weren't averse to filling in undergarments with padding in the same manner that under endowed men would fill their cod pieces to enhance the illusion of their manhood's size during the middle ages.

What one saw, as a buxom fully clothed woman, was not always what one discovered, once the dress, corsets, bloomers and other sundry items of feminine lingerie had been shucked.
