Motivational Poster Thread (warning content)

A fictional aphorism, from a fictional character from, from a fictional television series. The aphorism is absurd on its face. Of course toughness can be learned...it is the stock in trade whereby the marine corps (and other elite units) mould willows and oaks into soldiery with the mental and physical toughness needed to be effective combatants.

Toughness is important, but so too is resilience. The better soldiers embody the steadfast toughness of the Oak, with the endurance and resilience of the Willow. It doesn't have to be an either / or proposition.

 

I'd rather not.

 

Our labor rate was $70 an hour when I started. It's over $190 an hour now.
