Just the other day my chain saw had no spark so I assumed the coil was shot being a 40 year old saw.
I bought my self a new saw because I had work to get done before it rained or snowed.
Having some free time I took the old saw apart just for fun and I discovered the fly wheel key was sheered and there were points just below that .I cleaned the points and made a new woodruff key and it ran just like new.
Sometimes old stuff is better.

I kept several of those in the glove compartment of my ‘63 Nova. I also had several fuel filters that fit in the carburetor. Had to do beside the road fixes several times.

I miss being able to do a ten dollar/five minute tune up on my car in the K-mart parking lot!

 

Never in my life did I ever think I would have to pay over a hundred dollars for 8 spark plugs ,,,
