Used to enjoy it as a kid. Won't grow well here. Too far East. Haven't tried growing it in the dark.

Grandma used to make rhubarb pie all the time. Used to love it. Been a long time since I've seen a rhubarb plant.

 

Rhubarb was a regular winter dessert (accompanied by custard) staple when I was a child/teenager.

The rhubarb plant is a pretty hardy edible perennial, and is a good choice as a decorative edible plant in front gardens exposed to HOA Karens.



The leaves are poisonous and should not be eaten or given as stock food. I wouldn't recommend the leaves as food for your worm farm.

Rhubarb and strawberries go together well for pie filling...been a long time, close to forty years...

 

I mix up a bit of Dawn dish washing detergent ,Like about 3 drops and add about 8/10 drops of Louisiana hot sauce.
Add to a gallon of water and shake, Spray on leaves only.
I use this on my figs and Satsuma trees

When I was a kid, my sister and I would eat it raw. Talk about something that'd pucker your mouth!

Stuff takes a lot of sugar to make it right for eating, except I'm a diabetic and can't eat much now.

We do have a good size patch of it next to the strawberry patch. Wife usually can sell all we have extra, but does cook up some sauce for us.

 

You can make a sugar free version using splenda and sugar free jello.
