C-4 and the ole Lincoln Logs ,,, don the Superman Cape to protect from flying debris and you've got a good day packed with experiences such as physics , construction, destruction , cover , and maybe a little medical training,, all in one day ,,,

 

I like C4. It is fun stuff to experiment with. The last day before I was transferred to the retired list I set a water shot in the bottom of a deep water filled crater. I'll never forget the saucer eyes on the Harrier pilot as he banked over the hole to have a look. The shot shook the ground and caused ground waves, but the best part was the plume of muddy water that shot straight up toward the pilots canopy. I had no idea it would go THAT high! The RSO was sweating bullets waiting for a call that never came. The student pilot is probably still telling the story of how some crazy old Marine looked right at him and command detonated an explosion that nearly soiled his aircraft.

The look in his eyes told me something else was soiled too.
