Years ago I took my daughter with me to a gun show. She was still in a stroller. Got to talking with one vendor who had her infant in a small playpen behind her table. As she put it "she's safer here than at a McDonald's".

I once saw a clean decent looking guy in Walmart here, with his CCW pistol visible under his shirt. I quietly informed him he was printing. Actually, the gun was partly visible. He thanked me and adjusted his carry, out of sight of the public.
Nowadays, some soccermom or snowflake would have had the cops on him.

It wasn't there when I was a kid, but the airport was. We'd listen to DC3's struggling to stay in the air as they passed over the house and wonder if they'd make it, or end up in Pontiac Lake.

 

I looked at the pic for a few minutes , thinking back on J'ville , as I know it is / was , your AO for a while , and tried to remember if that place was ever there ,, then it hit me ,,, you would have to haul in all the snow from the whole damned county to pile up that much snow ,,,,

 

LOL! I almost got hit with a snowball during our one snow this winter. It was more than a thirty foot throw from directly in front of my car as I backed away. Beautiful curve ball put it right through the open passenger window. If we want to have a snowball fight we'll have to keep them in the freezer.
