Yup, I was one.

 

I remember when us kids were young,, mid to late 60s , Dad had an old Ford Station Wagon,, he’d lay the seats down and we’d be laid out playing with matchbox cars or playing a board game while he was driving down the road. We thought it was a hoot when he had to slam on the brakes and we slid up and bounced off the back of the front seat. We didn’t need no stinking seat belts back then. Hell ,, with those seats laid down,, we almost had enough room to play a game with our old yard darts.

I'd seen something similar on a race car trailer back when I was running in the Competition Coupe class. I always had trouble with people tailgating my tiny trailer, so I borrowed this idea and used a couple large magnets to attach a big empty cardboard box marked "roofing nails" to the left rear corner of the trailer. It backed a lot of folks off.

The two other guys that I routinely went to the races with always laughed at the line of cars that would back up behind me after they'd passed them. I never realized why until they pointed out the fact that while they used the whole lane with standard width car trailers, my little sprint car trailer, behind a Jeep, was so narrow that even though I stayed in the lane, my short wheel base and vague steering box meant I was wandering unpredictably from yellow line to white line. Made drivers behind me reluctant to pass the old stinky Jeep with the wagging tail.
