Looks to me that cities are the problem. We should ban cities...

 

Actually, it looks to me like fear, panic and misrepresentation of the issue is the problem. Look at the size of the dots an try to put that in scale. They put a single "dot" on the map and it looks HUGE! It doesn't matter what the legend is, it's a BIG SCARY RED SPLOTCH on the map. What looks to be a dot representing 10 deaths looks like half the gulf-coast of Texas is a damned KILLING FIELD! It would be interesting to put the NUMBERS that generated those dots off to the side for some actual, legitimate perspective.

Now, for the zinger...I don't think the numbers are accurate. I live under one of those "5 Deaths" dots and I'm pretty sure there haven't been 5 gun related deaths since Sandy Hook in my area, much less between Sandy Hook and April 4 (four months ago).

The map is Bull-$#!T and fear mongering and nobody will DARE take FluffPost to task for it! @-06 - correct me if I'm wrong, looking at our state would imply 50+ gun related deaths and I'm pretty sure that's a bald faced lie.

 

Agreed. Bull crap. Maps shows at least five sizes of circles as well, though the legend shows only 2. (1&5).

 

Ok, I actually found the download for the raw data...it's still misleading at the very least. I guess we've had a few more than but looking at the map it makes it look like the entire state should be running with blood (coincidence? I think not). For example, Texas shows 157 deaths but the map makes it look like it's a lawless, gun-feuding wasteland!
