@ForumMonkey the only way I reduced my A1C was to drastically reduce the carbs and processed junk (not necessarily 'junk food like candy and crap, but anything in a box that's preprocessed). I tried following the Dr's advice for years and would only get frustrated. Now I eat low carb (well, more like ultra low carb) at less than 20g of carbs per day. My last A1C was 5.3 and my triglycerides have been in the 'normal' range for the past 2 years.
