Got Old Pallets?

I was thinking I posted the rebuilt pallet hay shed on here but maybe not.

 

And my pallet garage shelving. I freaking love pallets.

 

Just wait. It's campaign season. All those campaign signs will be getting useful soon. O.O

 

I decided to make a compost bin from some old pallets. I tailed some wire to the back that will be on the inside. I have seen pictures of people growing plants out of pallets but am unsure if I need to tack wood on the bottom of the slats or just fill with dirt.
This is what I want to do.


Here is what I have done so far. I was going to secure it the other way so that it was shorter but I am opting for smaller space, taller with fencing in front that I can remove if needed.

 

related - in the spring, we check with the fence company on new installations. We'll go by and collect the longest boards and stack the rest. Have made sheds from the cedar, nice stuff for the most part. Makes for good shingles as well.

 

I have used them to stack firewood off the ground.

 

Hardwood pallets from Asia make good furniture. Cheap source of wood for building boats when used right.
