Having lived in the land of immortals, Okinawa Japan for most of the 1980's and early 90's I was surprised by the researchers apparent lack of understanding and observation of how people there and in South Asia cope with heat, and have been for thousands of years. The temperature and humidity they see as the limit of human endurance look like just about every day from May to October in Florida. How come people aren't all dying off in the summer in New Orleans? Because we are adapting to the heat, just like we do every summer. That's what humans do.

95 degrees with near 100% humidity sounds like lots of July and August in Eastern North Carolina. Survival requires more early rising and afternoon porch sitting. Maybe a little midnight lawn mowing. We can handle it.
