Global food prices on the rise

Just wrapped up with Sams and a regional supermarket. Both have a lot of empty shelves. Canned beans haven't gone up but I noticed 50 pound long grain rice at Sam's went from 11 to over 17 bucks. Jasmine rice was the same.

Remember how there was a conspiracy theory that there was some kabal who wanted to maintain the "cold war" Era where all the focus was on russia all the time because this kabal was making a crap load of money off the cold war, proxy wars and the distractions caused by them one way or another.
The point was 1 to keep all eyes on russia and Russian proxies, makes it easier to get away with doing stuff anywhere else.
2 to make money off from all the the cold war posturing.
3 an easy scapegoat for any fallout or bad press from 1 and 2 related activities, can be blamed on russia or her proxies.
Number 2 has pretty much dried up, but you still have 1 and 3 to work with and that is now the focus.

 

Can you live on rice, Spam, peanut butter, and bean sprouts? If so, I'm covered.

 

So far, they haven't made it to my catfish ponds.

Im going Shopping in the little smoke tomorrow.Food,PM's,boat ballast ,etc.
I will take pictures and make note of the prices up here in Costco an others .
That way SM gets an idea of the landscape of North America ..

Going to Costco tomorrow to re stock rice had 100 lbs we have gone through.

 

Well , I also have stocked critter food , lots of it is growen here , but stuff that is just addition to it that I can't grow for the cost of bag .. Dead deep freezes are all full .

No trendy varieties Labeled “ organic” or other similar buzz word. Just normal items. Nothing on sale we want regular prices.
How about gallon of milk, loaf of bread, dozen regular eggs, pound of regular 80/20 hamburg, box of craft mac and cheese, 3 pound bag of rice, jar of peanut butter, box of cheerios, can of peas, can of tomato soup. We can put price as well as price per oz for some of the other things. One way they hide price increase is by reducing amount of food in a package. Maybe add some non food items as well like gallon of regular gas, electricity Cost per kw/hr. What else?

no need for pix. Just type yer list. I will goto store tomorrow to build mine. Then we can all repeat this once per month or so and see how prices change.

I got some of what you posted ,, I got many looks at taking pix,, but said I was asking if I could buy , I said If i don't ask , It could become dry.. Woman thought I was a price checker , not a dumb giggle-low !

Went to Costco yesterday still have plenty of rice 25 lb bag of their brand long grain 10 bucks. 20 lb bag go Basmati rice $17.99

 

The last rice I picked up at COSTCO was for our LTS - $11 for 50 lbs - here in AK.
