Its still in print or you can print it out free online. It was a book that empowered me when I was in my 30's. I've reread it many times and I urge you to invest an hour or so in the reading. Its very lyrical and great for a rainy/snowy afternoon or evening by a fire with a little cognac or a cold beer and enough time to think about your own life.

Yes I do. I believe Rawles is coming out with a revised version shortly.

A decent SHTF fiction read that gets missed is Ill Wind by Kevin J. Anderson. The ending isn't so great, but a lot of the book is really worth reading, and his idea on the end of the world is one that I hadn't heard before.

The best post-Apoc. story is A Boy and his Dog by Harlan Ellison. As it is a short story it can be hard to find. It is collected in an anthology called It Came from Planet Hollywood which is also hard to find. If you have Netflix you can get the movie, also called A Boy and his Dog which is a good movie, but not as good as the short story.

For nonfiction, try The Long Emergency by James Howard Kunstler. Just don't e-mail the author with any questions as he is a big jerk. If nothing else gets us first I think the end of cheap oil will.

I understand that Jim Rawles is trying to get Patriots republished.
