@fl4848 … Have you tried the Bottled in Bond, yet? Enjoying an old fashioned with it now!! Mmmmmmmmm! That’s good stuff!! one white sugar cube saturated with bitters and muddled, 2oz Dickel and stir to dissolve sugar. One fresh orange twist rubbed around the inside and outside of the glass, poured over a single 2x2” clear ice cube… Loving the smokiness of this 13 year old whiskey!
Ya'll are some conissuers with them sugar cubes and stuff ,, the most I do is maybe pour it over ice ,, then immediately pour it in another cup ,, I won't let the ice melt in the liquor. Or ,, just straight from the bottle.
Yes sir ,, a little more like that . Don't get me wrong ,, I'm not knocking them fancy mixed drinks ,, I just don't know anyone that makes them .
I did. I bought a bottle when I picked up my lifetime Dickel supply. The owner said that he had to purchase 1 case to get 1 bottle of Bottled in Bond. He said he had it on the shelf for 7 years, and no one ever purchased it. I said "Well, today, I'm your man!" Gotta love the Dickel! I even purchased two Dickel shot glasses on ebay. I kinda like drinking it out of shot glass now. I sip it out. I don't take the "shot". Sipping it out of a shot glass seems to let you taste more of the flavors somehow. It's like a kaleidoscope. I taste something different in it every time. Crazy.
Looking at my shot glass now. It has "Oscar" on it. Looks like an old Model T? Not sure what that has to do with whiskey, but it's on there! Here's an example on Ebay: GEORGE DICKEL Tennesse SIPPEN WHISKEY Shot Glass Souvenir Collectable | eBay
I had remembered seeing a jug of something out in the garage with the #8 on the label. As it turns out to not be what you're looking for. Say's Benchmark #8
