Due to health issues, I drink at least 180 oz daily. Most of it is water and the unsweet tea makes a nice change from the self-drowning monotony.
I like to add some lemon juice or vinegar to my water occasionally, but NOTHING beats plain cold water when you are hot and thirsty. Hell, I've drunk warm and hot water and been glad to get it!

not really - most shelters, as a safety issues, do not allow drinking or doing drugs int he shelters. Poor sods are so addicted they would rather freeze to death than give up the bottle or dope. Thier body, their choice I suppose.

I'm a re-enactor, have been for 35 years, and in all those years I have never heard anyone gripping around a campfire about not having slaves. Granted, once every other blue moon or so it might be nice, but slaves are a lot of trouble. Remember, you gotta care for them from cradle to grave. Besides, modern technology has made hewers of wood and haulers of water unnecessary. What we do around the campfires is talk, sing old songs, drink some shine and talk a little treason. Remember, those old timey rifles, pistols and cannon are REAL! Besides, in a real war we would bring better, more modern weapons and ammunition...although a part of me would want to use my1853 Enfield rifle or Remington pistol. Most of us are older than the average Civil War soldier, but I'd wager that many of us are in better shape than much of the US Military/Law Enforcement and would be much more dedicated to the "cause", whatever that may be in a future Civil War. I re-enact because I have a love for history, and for my ancestors that made and lived that history. Yes, we lost to the Yankees...and maybe if we had killed another 300,000 or so it wouldn't be so bad, but history is history. As I told a snowflake once, just be glad that my granddaddy wasn't a Nazi! Nice read it gives me some Insite into the mind of a liberal.
