    I've had at least four good dogs. One Sunday in church my niece turned to me and out of the blue said "I really miss Cookie". Cookie was number one on the list, she's been gone 37 years now.. She was a hard act to follow but every dog helped fill a space in his or her own way. One of them was a mixed breed with at least some malamute in him. He would tell us if the fire truck (but only one in particular) was coming down the street. He really liked sleeping in the recliner when we were gone. Yeah, I'm a dog person.
