As soon as I'm done running the roads , trying to make a living ,, which is coming up quicker every day ,, I'm gonna get me another pup ,, there's not a better friend a man can have , than a good dog . I miss my ole Pit everyday . Some good lookin pups there Mr Kamp ,,,
Well, if you keep the GF, keep the dog or the GF won't learn her lesson and place in this new relationship. Your bitch will have to learn she isn't the farm Alpha female anymore. She can't keep biting the GF. As the Alpha male, you teach that instead of the females If she stays, that's one less yappy dog you have to listen to. Two to go!
Mr Duane ,, Don't get me wrong Sir ,, I'm not opposed to having a good long , equitable relationship. Not at all . And I'm around 20 years your junior . And with my past relationship experiences,, I don't see me being in a serious long term commitment these days . I had a kid with one ,, that didn't last 2 yrs ,, during the end of her 1st grade school year ,, I had custody of her . The next longest was a 5 yr deal with a gal that had 3 kids ,, that lasted 5 yrs . My long term relationship days are in the past . I really don't have the desire to put the effort in to making something work nowadays. I know they say it takes 2 to make it work,, but believe Sir ,,, when only 1 is putting in the work ,, it'll take a toll on ya . My grandparents, and parents went thru life with 1 marriage,, and I always thought that's how I would end up . But ,, it doesn't seem to happen like that all the time. My Mom , and her Mom , and my great grandmother,, suffered from dementia , and then alsheimers ,, all 3 suffered and died with that disease ,, and Sir ,,, I respect your faithfulness ,, just as much as I'm sure your wife does . I'm sure there's maybe a few , very brief moments that your wife is there with you ,, I saw that in my Mom a few times ,, once she even she'd a tear for a minute,, and I knew she was there ,, if nothing more than just a few seconds ,, but in that moment ,, at least she knew I was there. Hope I didn't get off script here ,, but I wish you and your wife all the best Mr Duane . You have my utmost respect Mr Duane ,, my grandfather ,, my mom's dad ,, died at 93 ,, he was as much my Dad , as my Dad was . And I mean no disrespect to my Dad by saying that . But I learned a lot from both of them ,, and miss them both . I wish you and your wife all the best ,, take care Sir ....
No need to type out what all the other monkeys have said.As I was with them also, But do let us know how it played out. Im rooting for you two to figure this ,as you both are grown adults . Sloth
I don't see this relationship lasting! Keep the dog! Damn shame about losing that sweet ride...and I'm talking about the Mustang!
Easy way to check an animal for rabies is to place a bowl of water before it, if it drinks it doesn't have rabies. Repeat as necessary.
Law requires 10 day observation but PoP like all the others in my crew had all their shots and vaccinations including the 3 year rabies in August. Thus the State and County are not injecting themselves into this.
Kamp has the GF calmed down and changed her view on the pup ---will she be staying --hope it works out which ever way you want it
Nothing she can sue me for at this point. Her own words on record "My Dogs attacked his dog and I intervened by hitting his dog to stop her from killing my dogs And then one of his other dogs attacked me. It was all my fault." And right now she can't walk hobble farther than the portable pot next to the bed and I am playing caretaker until she can get up and get around again. Whether she stays or goes after the 6-8 weeks it will take for her to fully heal is totally up to her. Call me bad but she gave me the log in info for her MY CHART and he statement to the Doctor about what happened is noted in it as well as my Statement about the dogs being current on all shots and vaccinations and PoP having no history of being aggressive toward people. And a screen shot of that page forwarded to my Lawyer and in my file at his office just in case She could also leave now if she wanted to as she has friends and family that would be happy to come get her and her stuff and move her out of her and in with them. So she is choosing to remain here in the presence of Poo and PoP....... I am not keeping her chained and imprisoned here. She is free to leave or stay as she chooses. That further shoots down the chance of any potential litigation or civil suit.
Yeah she has backed totally off of Poo having to go. I don't know if she is going to get over her absolute fear of PoP though. Was changing her bandages last night and didn't get the bedroom door closed all the way and PoP pushed it open and poked her head in and she started shaking and trying to squirm to the opposite side of the bed. In PoPs Mind it done and over is trying to make up with the GF and is not understanding the terror her mere presence invokes in the GF or why she can't go in the bedroom anymore. I keep telling her that NOW is when you swallow the fear and project strength and confidence with PoP otherwise you are going to be bottom of the pack pecking order and PoP will never respect you or your position within the pack here. LOL the best thing she could do is when PoP sticks her head in the door is fire off a couple of booming .45 blanks....... That is the Big Dark Bark that my dogs have absolute respect for and makes them stop, think and respect the barker. Not showing fear, Projecting Confidence and Barking with Authority is what will earn her Respect and a Alpha Position at the top of the pack. If she can't do that then she is going to have to move on because she can't be here as the 7th in line of the pecking order and the last pack member in the pecking order. Right now she is below her two surviving little dogs in the order of things and there is nothing I can do to change that even as the top Alpha with my guys....... Only she can assert her dominance and position. If she can't or won't her being here is just not going to pan out.
Sigh going to be a while before her leg is in good shape Narrowed it down to my little PoP did this in about 3 seconds, little PoP because she is my 70 pound light weight. Looks a lot better than when the lacerations were all folded out. She does have a infection starting in her foot, so changed antibiotics to something different since the one was not covering the bacteria causing it. Goes back to Doc Next Monday to get the stitches out. Doc was real worried those slashes on the back of the leg damaged the tendon and nicked or severed the artery. Thankfully her fangs missed both. It would be a whole lot worse if they hadn't. Would have been a whole lot worse if Poo hadn't grabbed her and held her down. She is just a big baby
We hope for the best bringing a new animal into our homes, while those we have my have some objection we may not perceive at the moment. I was given a 10 year old female Yorkshire while I had a 10 year old male Maltese. He wanted to mate and she would have nothing to do with him. They were very competitive over everything, attention, food and access to my bed. He became aggressive to me and got downright angry at me and as soon as he had the opportunity he ran away and I never saw him again. This all went down in the course of a year. Both were rescues other had given me for various reasons and this is always going to be a problem among older dogs from very different backgrounds.
That sucks the whole way around..... I have to give the dog a pass though. Girlfriends / kick dogs fault completely. Whynot
@Kamp Krap "Yeah she has backed totally off of Poo having to go. I don't know if she is going to get over her absolute fear of PoP though. Was changing her bandages last night and didn't get the bedroom door closed all the way and PoP pushed it open and poked her head in and she started shaking and trying to squirm to the opposite side of the bed." Good! I thought she would come around. Frankly, I believe she is staying with you also since she could now move enough to get to some relatives if she wanted to leave. It is perfectly normal for her to be afraid of PoP but she might be putting it on a bit but that's okay as she paid the price. I was thinking about this yesterday, damn! 300+ stitches! I mean, this is sad, sad event but was oh so lucky, no tendon, no artery damaged, just nasty bites. Yeah, I would be afraid too! LOL! Glad to hear she is healing up and it sounds like communication between you two is improving too.
