I'll make you a deal, any admin on here can PM me, and I will give them my .mil contact info. They can contact me and decide if I have the correct resume to debate this with you. But quite frankly your assertion that no one can debate this without the correct resume, don't fly with this any more than a woman telling me I can't talk about abortion because I can't have kids. The bottom line is all you have put out there is "they can't, because I say they can't" and that Audie Murphy only earned the MOH because he could shoot people, which quite frankly is pretty disrespectful of one of America's most decorated combat heroes. The great thing about a forum like this is you can make your arguments with the power of words and thoughts, without pulling rank or position to sway others to your point of view. If you have to pull the resume card, you already lost the discussion.
A general (female) was on Fox; the only 230,000 combat jobs which are still closed to women: Infantry, Ranger, and Special Forces.
I'm not too sure why this conversation continues... It seems to have come down to you and 2 others...and they are both set in concrete and nothing that could be said is going to do anything other than harden them in their positions, since everyone who disagrees obviously has no clue of what they speak. I'm not a big fan of t-shirt philosophy, but I keep being reminded of a piece of it that says "A mind is like a parachute...you can't use it unless it is open". It seems a few people in this discussion just can't find the D-ring...and I have never been a proponent of beating my head on a wall.
One of my many flaws in life is I am a serial head to wall beater In this case I may be better off to take your advice before my head explodes.
Fact, women have children while in combat zones as well as conceive them in combat zones. Neither one is good for the Mil, the Mom or the Child.
Maybe it takes only two for a discussion. OTOH , JUST MAYBE the "Follow Discussion" to others has been turned off!!! Must just be a computer glitch, or not! TYPICAL.
If I read you correctly, you believe no 1 else can read this? If so, then you are incorrect sir. Every word is in plain text, even to a lowly monkey such as I.
Let's jus say I stopped reciving any notice about 48 hours ago and only knew of post from the "Todays's Post" section. YMMV
Your last post was at 357 yesterday sir. I do not know how the notifications are sent, In packets or as individuals, But I also receive most but not all. I do not see this as a reason for paranoia, or a sign of censorship.
Believ what you want. The "time out" hours was previous to the time you mention that but , then who really cares!
For that matter, you can PM it to me yourself. I don't really care if you have a .mil address. So do a million other people, and none of them are automatically imbued with wisdom. If you will go back and re-read my posts, I didn't ever say that nobody else could have an opinion on females in combat. What I did pretty clearly point out is that those who speak on a theoretical level about combat don't have any idea what they are talking about. You pretty much need to see the elephant to be able to understand it. With particular respect to you, and without knowing your background, I simply said it would be great if you refrained from educating me about combat unless you've seen it. See above. I didn't say that, and to conflate abortion (murder of innocents) with putting people incapable of doing a dangerous job in the role of doing it, and thereby endangering the lives of themselves and others needlessly, is a logical fallacy. However, given your penchant for throwing out red herrings and straw men, this does not surprise me. Quit fussing about Audie. Relax. He can take care of himself. Besides which, you demonstrate my point. Combat is more than shooting. If you think I'm wrong in my assertion that females can't physically compete with males, prove me wrong. I would say the burden of proof is on you. Or don't. But don't assume you win the debate because you said, "Huh uhh!". I made my argument with the power of words and thoughts. What I can only assume is "pulling rank or position" comes from your assertion that I did something that I didn't do. Namely to tell people that they can't have an opinion because they aren't in the military. I will maintain however, that people can't have an opinion on what combat is or isn't until they've been there. If applicable, you included. Maybe I'm unreasonable.
Wow. What do you think combat is? And yet again, you set up a straw man so you can knock it down. Yet again, you ignore all points. I guess I'm just going to quit answering you according to your folly. You really don't debate as much as you averr.
Maybe Pyrrhus has a point, females don't have the physical strength to be front line combat soldiers. We are known primarily for our intelligence (and our killer bodies that would distract any man, much as Delilah's did to Samson.) Most likely, we will become the strategic planners, the brains behind the maneuvers, directing operations and implementing warfare, deciding where to send the brawn to execute our plans. I don't think testicles will be required for us to be successful puppet masters. No one's manhood will be threatened and they will know their fellow soldiers will have the strength to sling them over their shoulders and carry them, should the need arise. I think that pretty much solves the dilemma of the role of females in combat.
Yeah right, you want to tell men what to do, where to go, when to get there, who to take with you, and what route to take? who do you think you are....my wife or something?
