I have been fighting with an old 1377 that just isn't putting out the fps it should. I want a short barreled carbine on the 13xx . I ordered both 1322 and 1377 . The 1322 came in last night it depends has some oumph.
As ammo got scarce and then hard to source I ordered a Crossman Vantage .22 cal. Very happy with it and it can be a game getting back up rifle.
I have had very good luck filling a cardboard box with rubber mulch. When I am ready to sort through the mulch and lead, I sit down with a 6 pack of Guinness and a new cardboard box. I am sure there are handier ways to do it, but the cheap and dirty method works well for me. DW
I had some 1/4" plate steel laying around so I fabricated a bullet trap out of it. It's kind of heavy and will handle 22 rifle so for air guns it's great. Sits on a shelf in the garage so always ready for action.
Are those those cleaning pellets that you shoot no good for a spring power gun? They look a little scary so I ordered a cleaning kit and some air gun specific cleaner and oil.
My pellet trap is a lead plate I poured into an old cookie sheet. Each shot seems to melt right into the lead. One of these days I am going to make my own pellets. The tools are out there I just have to invest.
you can push them through with a cleaning rod but DO NOT FIRE THEM THROUGH A SPRING POWERED GUN.!!!!! It is the same as dry firing a compound bow
I haven't had a chance to chronograph the big air rifle I just got, but it dents my 1/10 scale silhouette targets and sends them flying it hits hard
I was taught to only clean an air rifle when accuracy starts to decline. I have a .22 bore snake with no brush that I use at that point. DW
I haven’t been pellet trapping yet, but will build one since it only makes sense. I shoot CO2 BB’s into cardboard boxes and reuse these, so I might as well use it for both. jim
