Anyone know about this? The US Supreme Court issued an opinion yesterday, Perez v. Mortgage Bankers Association that reverses a nearly two decade old ruling from the DC Circuit that required administrative agencies go through the notice and comment process BATFE was using with this ban. The Perez case stands for the premise that interpretations of administrative rules do not have to go through the notice and comment process and can simply be issued. Don't count this ban out yet.
Yup! The ATF shelved the Obama ammo ban proposal due to well over 80,000 vigilant Americans who bombarded them with emails, faxes and phone calls. @Grand58742 I hope you don't mind my editing the title to appropriately fit the current situation. (victory!)
I'll inject some humor into the discussion... In New Haven, Blumenthal, Murphy, Esserman call for ban on armor-piercing bullets I'd love to see the honorable Blumenthal attempt to show us how easily an AR-15 pistol can be concealed. And get it at quickly enough to pop a few rounds at a cop...with blanks of course just to prove his point. Are they going to require police to wear full Level IV body armor for "any kind of bullet" they might face? Yet more stupidity from our elected officials.
