True, but ammo and components are always good trading fodder.

My local favorite gun store is still well stocked looks like it's been hit some.
The approximately 8 unopened cases 3 weeks ago are now down to 3, and there's maybe 10% more empty shelves.

Locally it come and goes in waves. Along my travels there are a few smaller gun shops that I frequent. 9mm ball and .223 sometimes pallets of it. other time cases. yet other times just a few boxes. Just depends on who's out.
but now that hunting season is just around the corner anything with a .3 in front is pretty much gone.
and forget about seasonal stuff it took me nearly 2 years to get a case of .35 that I'd ordered.
lots of shotgun ammo and .22lr.

The "lake city ammo shortage" just a hoax?
Well it doubled prices on 223/5.56 ammo.
Only ammo I have bought in the last month has been 22lr and six5.
There's always some moron that runs out and blows at least a pay check on the price hiked item in question.

Gun grabbers are going after ammo now.

Remember how there was a rumor that "lake city was going to stop all commercial sales" and caused 5.56 prices to double in like a week? I have an idea who might have started it....

No i think fauxcohantas already sponsored a bill to ban “bulk” ammo sales

Certainly no fan of the AR platform here, but a friend has one and wanted me to shoot it when at the range. He kept going on about accurate and reliable it was. Well, I shot it from a rest, and got a group of about 1.5” at 100 yds. I was extremely surprised at an M193 clone grouping like that.

He was shooting some remanufactured rounds loaded by Ammo Incorporated. It was affordable and accurate. I still won’t get an AR but I was surprised at the accuracy of this combo. Far better than what I shot in the army.

Has anyone else noticed shortages of components that seem *odd*?
I have 2 favorite .223 bullets, a favorite .30 cal bullet and they are available nowhere. I went ahead and researched some alternatives, and none of them are available. I know they run seasonally, but it seems crazy that nothing is available.

Wow, great place to look. There are a bunch to potentially try there, but I worked up a nice load with Winchester 64 gr bullets for coyote, etc. I guess I can start back at square one, it just seems strange that so much is out of stock. Also looking for some specifically 300 blk stuff (stuff that will expand at less than .308/.30-06 velocities).

Went to Cabell's in Lubbock again, got the usual case of primers, they had pretty much everything.
Now instead of thinking about buying a brick when I go I get a case.

Overall, while ammunition is a necessary component of firearm gundeals operation, it's essential to be aware of the potential risks and issues associated with it and take appropriate precautions to mitigate these risks. Proper training, knowledge, and adherence to safety procedures are crucial for safe and responsible use of ammunition.

In stead of burning it up at the range make every shot count.
My trigger time is spent using air guns, I haven't bought fire arm ammo in years.

I I train the kiddos on a .22 air rifle.

500 "shots" is pretty cheap. Works for rabbit etc as well.
