It turns out the scene was to be shot from inside the building looking outside the front door, where the actor in question was to fire back thru the open front door directly at the camera.. Both the Director and Cinematographer were by the camera, at a distance of about 25 ft… An asst. Director handed the actor the FireArm, before filming the scene started… Apparently no one informed the cast, actor in question, and scene crew, that the FireArm was ”Live Round Loaded”… The Safety Officer apparently did NOT check the FireArm before it was handed to the Actor… So like I posted above, this was completely preventable, and both the Property Master, and Safety Officer were, in my opinion, NEGLIGENT in preforming their duties… and this is the lax standard of Safety that was prevalent on this “Low Budget Movie Set” where a bunch of the Union Crew hands walked off the Set, in the days before the incident and were replaced by non-Union workers… By the By, Baldwin was one of the Producers of the Movie…
Manslaughter in NM is a Class 4 Felony... "Commission of a lawful act which might produce death in an unlawful manner or without due caution and circumspection." There were three guns on the cart available to the assistant director, placed there by the film's armorer. So, I would suspect that the armorer, actor and assistant director are in some serious shit.
If you have ever seen anything he's done its pretty obvious he has MASSIVE anger management issues. It would be 0 surprise if he shot someone and killed them on purpose. Just google Baldwin anger and video after video come up with his various court cases and punching and threatening. The grabbed one girl and threatened to choke her. Yeah he's a psycho.
Whole lot of BS going on. 1. A "prop" gun is a plastic replica or a real weapon with a plug welded in the breech so ammo can't be loaded in it. A real gun was in play. Using the word 'prop' is attempting to mitigate legal liability ahead of time. 2. Reports are a couple of 'ADs' (accidental discharge) had already happened on the set, causing some of the crew to walk out over safety concerns. There should be NO discharge, accidental or not, on a movie set. Live ammo shouldn't even be ON the set. 3. Apparent failure from Baldwin on down set this in motion. 4. The lawsuit that will come will involve a WHOLE lot of zeros to the right of a digit. I'd imagine there are law firms salivating over the prospect of signing the survivors up for their services.
I say stick with the Mantra, Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Seems baldwin pulled the trigger so ultimately, he's the one responsible. all the extraneous circumstances are irrelavent as he pointed and pulled the trigger. But I bet he doesn't do a lick of jail time. Laws and punishment are for the peons.
I have it from a reliable source that the crew would take the "prop" guns into the desert and go shooting. That Baldwin is a co-producer of this film I believe he has some responsibility to provide oversight on safety for the cast and crew. I don't think this is going to end well for some.
Well , here's a new twist ,, the dead gal is // was , married to a lawyer with Latham and Watkins law firm ,, that was representing someone involved with Hillary Clinton's campaign . Not saying the devils ho is involved ,, but that's 1 bitch worth not knowing ,,,,,
We can only hope this bankrupts this POS into oblivion never to be seen or heard from again. Funny how Steven Baldwin (brother) is a conservative and this POS and Steven came from the same womb
Bad year for the Baldwins. Hilaria, wait Hillary was busted for not being Spanish. Turns out when she said “How do you say cucumber in English” that she should have just pronounced it the way she did growing up in Boston, Mass. Now this, yikes! Maybe it really is better to be Billy Baldwin. (New reality show? Better To Be Billy Baldwin. It can’t miss!!!)
Okay, say you're a non-union prop handler and you see these on the table. You know the actor is to fire a blank round directly at the camera. Which one is the blank? Gun folks will immediately know the answer is none of them. There should be no live ammo anywhere near a movie set where firearms are used as props. And from past experience, the barrels should be checked for obstructions that could become deadly projectiles even if a blank cartridge was fired. Now the big question. Where did the live round(s) come from?
(8 min) Former Dukes of Hazard actor and vocal 2nd Amendment proponent John Schneider has some excellent points in a recent News Max interview on the incident.
He that holdeth said gun and pulleth said trigger is ultimately responsible. Where the live round came from or who put it in the gun has some bearing on the case, but not as much as the one that pulled the trigger.
It has been noted in the MSM, that some of the cast and crew, were known, to take the FireArms, in question, out on the desert, and go plinking… This likely is where the Live Ammunition came from on the set… Also noted the Lady who was in charge of the sets FireArms is the daughter of a well recognized FireArms Prop Master, and this was only her Second Gig, and stated on an earlier Podcast, that she was NOT completely comfortable in that position… It is also noted by MSM, that the FireArms Prop Master laid out three FireArms on the Prop Cart, and the asst. Director picked up the FireArm in Question, and gave it to the Actor, and announced to the Cast & Crew “Cold Weapon” which indicated a “Safe to fire Weapon, on set”… There was no indication that he or the actor actually checked the FireArm, to see if that was true…
ahahahaaaa...Same with my brother. I'm libertarian to somewhat right of John Birch, depending on the issue, and my younger brother is a literal Left Coast liberal who hasn't been able to shave in years because his head is buried so far up his backside. Exactly what I said to my wife. Somebody was out plinking tin cans after work. What other reason could there be for live ammo on a movies set !
You and me @TnAndy …. I am just left of Nazi (or so says my very Liberal Friends) but my Brother is on the left, just left of Center..
