Construction Above ground storm/fallout shelter 1.0

I noted this shelter was built above ground. My property has high clay content in the soil, the property almost didn't perk Presently building raised beds out of old pallets for the garden (using 5gal. buckets right now) should be set for next year, also will be building a hobby greenhouse kit, hope it all works out.

 

The overhang probably improves the aerodynamic qualities of the timber / sandbag roof for flight. Am not sure that the shelter provides much in the way of ballistic protection, perhaps mortar and field artillery shell splinters, though I doubt that a layer of sandbags is the equivalent of 18" / 45cm of compacted earth overhead cover.
