Let me guess ghost - you want to buy it? Or want to buy a Chinese SKS? Works for me since I'm trying to cut down on the amount of safe space my guns are taking up (well that and a friend needs to borrow some more room in some of my safes). If not that's okay too because I can keep it also. It's just that it seems pointless to keep something I don't shoot (that and I'm not going to hold a gun for somebody who's since bought 3 guns and keeps crying he doesn't have the money). The other stuff will be going up for sale on a C&R board I participate on.
ammo 125.00 per 1000 in town is not a bad price, any of your out of town alternatives will include shipping of course, and will usually cost around 15 to 30+ per thousand depending on quanity and location. current importation of 7.62 has slowed WAY down in some part due to the low value of the dollar abroad, and one of my suppliers has told me quite a bit of 7.62x39 is being purchased by some parties in the middle east. times are changin boys! stock up! if anyone can find somone selling wolf or brown bear for 62.50 per 1000 let me know I will take all I can get!
I think you AK folks are in for a time soon. Personally, that is why my AK isn't my primary defensive weapon, when you have to rely on Russia to provide your ammo for you, that can't be a good situation. I personally think the AK is the new M1 Carbine. Remember when you couldn't sling a dead cat without hitting a M1 Carbine for $100, but the ammo was so expensive that you couldn't afford it? I personally think the AK is rapidly marching down that trail. Interesting that no american company has taken up the cheap 7.62x39 trail.
It has gone up, but 5.56/.223 seems to have also. When available that is. As soon as it arrives, it is gone. I called these guys: http://www.armthepopulace.com/ they said they were expecting a big shipment in. So I will be calling them back. I hear that the Sportsman's Guide also has some in, but it might be gone by now. Next chance you get, buy extra. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...&parentType=index&indexId=cat20839&hasJS=true http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/62700-8699-257.html http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/defenseh_cfh.htm http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=217522 http://64.182.27.156/index.php/ammo...12_41?osCsid=daecc0f465db3643f7554a736687a861 http://www.ammunitionstore.com/ http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinLinks.htm
Cash and carry at a local dealer. I could stuff 75 pounds in a flat rate box and send it to you for $7.95 if you needed some
Hey I could handle 75 pounds of ammo delivered for $7.95. So if I sent you $32 would you send me 300 pounds of ammo?
The word on the ground is that Wolf has been filling military contracts instead of civilian orders. Cost have gone up on ammo production, not to mention frieght. I doubt we will see $75/1k again but ammo should come back in to supply in the next several months.
We will see. You got to admit that there are not as many suppliers as in the days of Y'or. I still believe the gun grabbers will get us by taking the ammo away as opposed to taking the guns.
One reason I want to get into reloading and also figure out how to recycle primers. Aside from that figure one of my next gun purchases will be a flint lock rifle, I can make everything to shoot stuff with those already.
This is one reason that I've been thinking of getting one of those Sharps breechloading repro's that were designed for paper BP cartridges. jim
Cheapest Wolf I've been able to find is $159.50 per 1K locally or $179 shipped from Ammoman.com for Military Classic 124 gr. JHP, when it's available locally.
