    A lot hangs on the unit price...........if the unit price is more than $2.50, then the discounted price can be had with just two packets at the "correct price", otherwise a customer would have to buy 4 packets to get the discounted price which may be more chip packets than a customer might want to consume.

    The correction notice is not as silly as it may seem.

    Maybe so, but not here in this state of confusion. If a customer wants just one, the store has to give it at the advertised sale unit price. To say that even if the advertised price was 8 for 20, they would still have to sell at 2.5 per. There's also a weasel word way around that by stating in the ad that "must buy __" to get the deal. Case extant, the ads, both original and revised, simply challenge the arithmetical inability of the hoi polloi.
