I work outside a lot in the thick mesquite brush of Southern Texas we have our far share of cactus out here and I wanted to hear people suggesting what they feel is the best way to remove the needle? Or if you have any tricks.

I have used the knife blade edge, tweezers, needles, Multi-Tool , bought a tool that said it removed needles and ticks it did not work.

Also give hats off to the Handy mans secret weapon duct tape! Yet don't buy the cheap stuff for medical! It works great removing the hard to get fine hair needles that a nasty plant has around here.

Edit: I'm in no way saying that I'm "Medical" or anything like that

Elmer's glue. Let it dry and peel it off. That is what I use for the nasty super fine ones.

I did think about this one but it's awesome to hear someone has used it.

Question have you found that the glue travels well? No offense please I'm asking because this might be a great idea for hikers in cactus county.
I believe most of use bought a new bottle before. It went bad? I have never seen old Elmer's school glue go bad! I'm sure I will be proven wrong!

As far as I know, it lasts for years if you close it responsibly. It lasted all school year when I was a kid.

I think it is like a caulking gun. You lose it before you wear it out or use it up.

We don't have cactus, but I'd just avoid them myself!

GAFF tape like used in TV and Film industry. Gets the little ones out you can't see. Pretty good on little metal shards too.

It feels very hard to peel off the needle. Mostly I use a knife to remove the needle. Sometimes needle string my hand when I handle it without using any safe gloves.

It seems people used to use nylon panty hose material. The fine ones would snag in the material. I have also heard of it working on fiberglass fibers.

    I've never tried it.

Interesting and useful ideas... never tried the Elmers Glue but I just might. Last time I had cactus spines it was caused by not paying attention where I sat.. was hunting at the time and my buddy was kind enuff to pull the most egregious ones out!
