What’s Your Favorite Knot/Hitch?

I've used this hitch countless times over the years, having never known it was called a "trucker's hitch".
I use it regularly to bind loads on trailers. I've shown locals how to do the same.

 

...if you did your research you would of course realise that here in the Colonies we did not use such a knot for suspending our issues, but instead what was essentially a steel eyelet braided into the end of the rope to thread back through and place for proper effect. And of course a gibbet to display the body in after.
