At a ceremony on Tuesday, Gov. Doug Ducey (R-Ariz.) signed a revolutionary school voucher legislation into law. The bill, HB 2853, gives all Arizona families access to a universal voucher system — the first in the country.

It specifically empowers parents by giving them the ability to reroute public education revenue and use it for private school tuition and other education costs.

There are a lot of Businesses that the Government should get out of, in my opinion... One of the first ones that comes to mind is the "Marriage License Business" They have mucked that up since the before the founding of this country... Leave that to the Preachers, and such...

This was long overdue and it will have an immediate effect on the public education system. This gives taxpayers an alternative since the Public Education system and Teacher's Union will not respect parents wishes and don't want them involved in their children's education. While they could always have chosen private schools or Home schooling over public school, they would have had to continue to paying taxes to public education. This is how taxpayers and parents hit back! I hope more states follow Arizona's lead asap.

It seems slowly, but surely, the pendulum is swinging the other way...thank God!

    This is YUGE!
Finally, there's a way to "Bust" the gov. Education system, and purge all the women's outta the schools. Combined with a more localized and focused system and fewer admins ( too many chiefs, not enough indians) and a more competitive environment to attract and retain quality staffing, and should lower the ratio of kids per teacher. I would also like to see more resources applied to "Special Needs" kids, and I really wanna see the "Standards" fundamentally changed, this is America, we don't compete with any nation for anything, we stand above, and holding our kids to unrealistic standards of other nations is stupidity writ large! American culture doesn't support that, never did, we need to go back to teaching kids life lessons, and not worrying about how much "Smarter" Japanese kids, or German, or Swiss kids are, it dosnt matter!

If those who oppose cry parents are poor educators,
reflect them back to the poor educators in public schools.
Many parental educators' kids have passed the GED just fine including our own.
