From now on we (staff) are posting here very briefly to address any ordinary thread deletions.
This will serve as a record for any members. For the record, you ought to know that we will always notify a member if their thread is deleted. We will also tend to move posts or threads that are flagrant or provoking to the Inferno. Thread deletion is rare, but it can happen. Also note that any member who creates a thread of their own can delete them. This is a very likely occurrence, as I have noticed in the logs.

If you have any interest or inquiries, please feel free to ask us in a private convo. Otherwise, this thread will be for information purposes only. You may comment in here if you wish, but please keep it civil and do not use this thread for complaints. Again, private message us if you have a complaint.

Our current roster for active moderation is as follows:

    Yard Dart
    Brokor
    Minuteman

We have more staff around, but their presence is intermittent and it may be best to go with one of us who are here every day or two checking in.

*This does not apply to any events with Chelloveck*

I deleted two threads about HotDiggity upon his request. Reason - OPSEC.

Now I know why Chello has been posting like a Mountain man/survivalist/domestic diva of late and not commenting on American politics in general and Trump in particular.:) However, some of his tips about de-cluttering the house and replacing an axe handle have been informative. I kina like this "new" Chello.

I have always liked Chelloveck, Even the Catholic church has a devil's advocate to keep the making of a new saint legit. It is his job to bring up any objection he can to harm the image of the person to be sainted. That way they find out ahead of time. Chelloveck's job is to keep us from looking for pots of gold at the end of the rainbow and he functions quite well. He has a lot of knowledge and his bark is more anoying than his bite.

Don't short him on military history either, a field I dearly love.

Hence our multi year tolerance. But his constant violations of CoC by posting insults to other members, posts whose sole purpose was to inflame, etc, etc, etc. Pick a CoC and he's violated it. Multiple times and after a record number of warnings. We've lost members due to his constant agitation. Our number one job as staff here is to protect the integrity of the site. For all members.

Ole Chello can add a good bit of useful content at times ,, other times ,, he's good at being an obnoxious political hack , no disrespect Chello ,, but he has his right to his opinion ,, whether I like it or not ,, just as he may not like mine ,,, you just have to let it slide on by ,,, or not .
But the mods have their job as stated in the guidelines , if I cross the line ,, I can be booted as well . JMO,,

The first time I read the COC (yesterday) I only did so to see what rule 1 and 9 said. I might someday go read the rest of the COC, but I'm apparently not running afoul of the rules just sticking to the Golden Rule and the one that kept me in line as a child. "What would your Grandmother think if she heard you say that?"

I've been on internet discussion boards since I still had a Pine email address, and found that it often takes more finesse in my writing style to maintain the peace online than I needed writing letters home from overseas. (with a 14 day response time)

I rather enjoyed the mental wrestling matches with Chell. It was, however, sprinkled with democrat babble enough of the time to be objectionable to almost everyone here. This is a survival/prepper site first yet we seem to gravitate into the realm of political discussion a bit too much, an endeavor that most certainly will raise the ire of someone sometime. Like a train wreck, we are all guilty of looking. I guess that is part of what cements the core group here so tightly.
