The email below indicates to a Vet in need of a procedure that they should go to the mentioned location.

That is pure BS for the Fort Worth location is down due to needed repairs from the TEXAS Freeze and the information is actually, as shown, really old out of date information. From 02/28/2017 10:30 AM EST.

As all can read this was posted "Veterans Health Administration sent this bulletin at 04/20/2021 05:20 PM EDT"

Don’t let a stress test stress you out. Getting a stress test just got easier for North Texas Veterans receiving VA care. A stress test at Fort Worth VA Outpatient Clinic may be just what the doctor ordered. Read the full story

    Not a vet myself.

But it appears that you click on the link for information on a treadmill test and there's a picture of a gentleman wired up sitting in front of a treadmill, presumably readying for his stress test.

But that's all the information there is on stress tests as the article jumps right into a summary of services that the VA has for LGBTXYZ.

Did I see that correctly or have I not had enough coffee yet this morning?

It's a damn shame that we have vets in need of basic services after keeping their end of the deal-many times at great personal cost, but a frigg'in illegal gets a nice apt, and a monthly check.:mad::mad:

The VA staff always treated me well enough. As in politely and respectfully. But their treatment (as in medically) caused me to go to private health care. I am lucky enough to be able to afford it. Many can't.

I hear it's getting better. Hope so for my brothers and sisters.

Yup not only is the information wrong it shifts gears and sends you down a path that does not follow what you are in need of.

Yes I receive those "VA Service Adds" and as a result use the information to help Vets in need.
It's a real downer to find out you pointed a Vet to something that was totally off balance to their needs and reduces the service they need.

Looks also as if someones are intentionally advertising false information and may even be redirecting a favored group for special service, aka a bit of conditioning of a special variety. AKA Brain Washing as a conditioning for a future world to change the morals of America.

Pretty sad when a Volunteer finds their efforts are way off mark in helping a Vet receive services they have earned.

And I just found another screw up.

I selected :manage Health Care Benefits for a self paid service! So where did it send me?
Benefits and Records for DoD Affiliates

So which of the (Nine banners) do I select for "View your total out-of-pocket expenses, claim records, and TRICARE® fees for the current and prior fiscal years."
Got me, none worked for that use!

In short the VA IT Group of North Texas is just plane terrible.

    It's a sad/bad joke!
It's one thing to get an appointment several months out, have the doctors over book, and then be sent home to "Wait" several days to weeks longer then your appointment was for, then have to wait several hours more once you get there! There there is the private route, with more paperwork then it took to enlist, and finally, finding out your needs are not covered!
Then we get to the ancient and over taxed internet system, needlessly complicated, and exhaustive to navigate, and when you finally get where you are supposed to go, the system ether crashes, or won't let you input your information! We gave up long ago, and instead choose to jump through the many hoops of private care! Dad and I are fairly low needs, but with the limited care options available to us, the V.A. is sometimes the ONLY option we have, and then there is the hour and fifteen min drive into Potland, and then ether finding a hotel to stay in for a few nights, or trying to make the drive, often several times, to the tune of several hundred dollars per visit just in travel costs! Ugg. It's exasperating to say the least!

At least once we actually get into for an appointment, the personal are mostly decent and caring, and at least they try to do what they can! Unfortunate, the Gov. funding usually prevents better care and medicines, so, again, the private sector to the rescue, as long as the V.A. pre approved it, as in having seen you for this specific issue first! What a cluster fuck!
And like I Said, we're of the mostly low needs, what about the guys who are in need of lots more????

My Brother has recently discovered this nightmare, having finally gotten into the system and got his first appointments, only to see first hand what Dad and big brother have been dealing with for several years now! Little Bro is in for it soon enough, and my kids will have to deal with it once they retire! God help us!!!

So it hasn't got better. My first trip to the VA, I walked by guys in wheelchairs outside. I thought they were waiting for a ride. They were waiting to get into their appointments.

"what about the guys who are in need of lots more????"

Working on one of those now.

Vet did two trips to Iraq, then medical discharge due to severe injuries and sure Vet got the 100% classification and now needs major surgery. Problem is he will be in a chair or a walker for months. So he needs a ramp of considerable size and distance. Sure VA will cover the surgery but who's to pay for the Ramp?

We'll manage the build but it is just wrong for the Vet to go begging for a ramp as it is not in the VA's budget!

Young Marine I met a few years ago needed a prosthetic leg, the V.A. "Approved" him for what I can only describe as a medical nightmare prosthesis made of stainless steal, heavy fiberglass and lots of leather straps and harness and buckles, that sucker weighs every bit of 12 pounds, and doesn't even have a movable foot, takes ten min to put it on and get it adjusted, and requires super expensive Stump Socks which are just as bad as sweaty gym socks! Needless to say, I was super pissed! I know they are able to make super light, damn near full motion walking/running prosthetics, but for some reason the V.A. will not approve it for this kid! So, I grabbed the bull by the horns and did what needed doing, first getting ahold of the administrator who couldn't/wouldn't do anything, contacting both state reps and congress critters, and even sent a letter to the POTUS, and got zero response except from the White House in the form of a generic forum letter, but hey, that's more then we got from our states reps! Any way, I got ahold of a couple of prosthetics specialists and got some pricing for an out of pocket arrangement to the tune of $18,000 U.S Dollars, Holy shit, is this fucking thing made of solid gold with diamonds and rubies, NOTHING costs that much, and so I got even more pissed off. finally, we found a small specialists who agreed to do a full fit and tune with full supplies for $6500 cash! BINGO, now were cookin! Got ahold of a couple of community leaders, church groups, and a coupe of private business's to donate funds to help with the expenses and additional fittings and tunings! This new leg is all carbon fiber and titanium, weighs less then a pound, and is fitted with a simple suction pump and it stays put, even when running. it has a full range movement ankle mechanism, and a full spring foot, that sucker works so well that you cannot even tell he is wearing a prosthetic, and it is super easy for him to clean and maintain! WHY would the V.A. NOT approve it? Why insist on vintage 1980's technology that causes more suffering then it helps?
Oh yea, they wouldn't approve him for a half way decent wheelchair to use when he would get the inevitable stump break down, instead, getting him a generic stainless steal chair that's heavy as a fully loaded Backhawk with fuel, or using crutches which we all know sucks! What The Actual Fuck, Over!!!!

Yup we work with other groups within the state and county. Most anything can be done when folks work for a good cause.

Glad you had a positive ending to your work.
