The author uses language that is not necessary, both in length of article and the use of profanity. Somewhere about 1990, we as a nation decided that we no longer needed to limit the profane to either a subgroup of the society or as a symbol of the absolute last level of desperation. At about the same time we as a society lost the concept that "God D*** you" was a heartfelt request that the individual being spoken to was not only be punished in this world, but the next and was not meant to be something to be takien lightly. In the process we let it lose its effect on the following generations. The American Dream Is Killing Us The basic premise, that as a nation we have reached some end point or limits and that our holding onto what we might of had in the past may in fact prevent us from solving our present problems is however worth thinking about. Much of our present political unrest, racial and cultural strife, and left vs right each trying to establish dominance, etc, is in fact in my humble opinion, only a reflection of each group trying to get a bigger piece of an ever smaller pie. Several articles have been presented by others on the "stimulus" effect. It assumes that the system as we know it is failing and we are building our own "Potemkin's village" world in the economic sense to allow us to kick the can down the road for at least a little while longer. Thus government money, forgiveness of debts, zero interest rates, etc, keep both the Zombie companies and the economic Zombie individuals, staggering along with some illusion of life. Of Two Minds - Stimulus Addiction Disorder: The Debt-Disposable Earnings Pyramid Preaching to the choir, those who read and think already have seen these types of articles, those who don't are so tied into the system that they don't want the delusions to end as the reality is not comfortable.
