Yep, $1,700 for a flare launcher and 3 flares. Did't look up price of flares. Buy a lot of rice and beans for that amount of cash and not much food value in a flare cartridge. If things do go south, government is going to be very interested in those boys and when food runs out, they are going to be very dangerous to those of us who invested in long term storage food and ways to raise our own food instead of all the tactical cool toys. Some things, night vision, long range sniping rifles, hi tech radios, etc, can make them very dangerous as either raiders or wanabe warlords. Some things I liked in site, but most of what I would like is well out of my budget.
