My Dad had an approximate 250 gallon water stove ,, he took sheets of the local newspaper,, rolled them up ,, put a rubber band around them ,, stacked them into a 5gallon bucket, poured in maybe a 1/2 gallon of kerosene,, put a lid on the bucket to prevent evaporation or creating a potential fire hazard .. either way,, he would load the heater ,, grab a rolled up piece of kerosene soaked piece of paper,, pushed it in between the logs ,, light it and close the doors ,, after that fire burned on ,, he had about 3 days of heat ,,,
