Crap yield so far. We put out a half dozen containers for our youngest grandchild (3YO) to plant spuds.

Harvested the first two containers today. Weed free all summer and no bugs, also a very cold and wet summer.

Total spuds about 2 kilos. Well make some mashed taters for dinner, using those and have him help cook the tubers.\

I'm happy with container growing, something we've done in the past - just think I need a hoop house to keep temps up and the wet under control.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

    Great job!

I have tried several times in several ways and failed to harvest potatoes. I even tried the "rub with wood ash and plant under the new moon" method.

They do make a pretty plant.

I think the Irish Potato Famine curse followed my people to America. At least the banshee lost the trail.

Our spud harvest was half of what it was last year. Not good. Now to finish freeze drying them.

Harvested the rest of the containers, total yield for the summer - between 10 and 15 pounds.
Considering I put in zero effort, I'm happy,. Already had some mashed potatoes for dinner. Good stuff.
