Typical thuggery. The guy was not asking for money, whether it was a trick or not, it was pretty neat. He was harming no one, "my interpretation of it" (which is to say he can say or do whatever he wants and he gets way with it because that is the way HE interpreted it.), typical 'I got a gun and a badge and I'll shoot you for filming this' attitude. HOW was this guy harming ANYONE or breaking a "law"?!
I wonder if he had just done what the officers asked in the first place whether he would have been cuffed and arrested. He wanted to get arrested. He wanted the vid to be posted. Why was there someone recording this in the first place? Occam's Razor....
I have helped build a levitation cane rig and it kind of kills all the magic. I'm going to have to say the whole thing was staged.
Go ANY WHERE and people are filming stuff. The guy was "sitting in air", heck, I'D film that! The guy was hurting no one and nothing, WHY was he being harassed/hassled and for what? If no one stands up for their rights, we have NO RIGHTS! What if Rosa Parks had not been paid to sit in the front of the bus by communist agitators (yes, really, go read your history, it was NOT just some negro woman sitting in the bus, it was PLANNED to cause trouble), what if the Minutemen didn't feel like showing up at Boston Common? What if Miranda did not fight being attacked and for his rights?
But would you have started filming BEFORE he "levitated?" Just another dweeb wanting his 15 minutes of fame. Still doesn't make LE's actions proper though... ETA: The people filming were "with him" because they need his keys to go home! I'd bet they were hoping SH would get an opportunity to sue...
He may have been levitating before and stopped and started a couple of times, which triggered the video taping if this one. Just a thought. May be staged, may not. Kinda dumb either way and really dumb just to go viral.
Just wait till he gets in front of the Judge, and the LEOs have to come up with the Probable Cause, For the Arrest, and the DA has to explain it to the Judge... more than likely he will get kicked before then, with "No Charges"... He can the sue the City for False Arrest, and get a few bucks, from the TaxPayers...Depends on if there is a local Staute that covers loitering on that sandy area...
Actually in my opinion, depending on "how little you give a Schmitt!", can be part of the problem. . Where you draw the line at freedom of expression, speech, "lying to police", probable cause .... all figure into the present storm trooper military state. The thin blue line has been under attack in aggressive and obvious ways in the last few years. No sane caring person condones that, but the leos themselves need to consider being officer friendly, not billy badass all the time. Consider also the number of good Samaritans who have recently come to the aid of officers under attack. Nothing requires people to take that risk unless they think highly of their local leos and their conscience itself drives them to do so.
First, the guy was asking for a ride in the cop mobile. Second, typical type A cop, should not have escalated it, but had to because his buddies were there. I helped a SC State Trooper once get a big guy into bracelets. He then told me to never interfere again. Second time I helped a Myrtle Beach cop that was being backed against his car by 2 college guys, and was then detained while my ID was verified after the 2 guys were in custody. As far as I'm concerned, I'll stand back and laugh when I see a cop getting his ass beat. I have less than zero respect for these storm troopers anymore. And no, I've never been arrested, and yes, I've been one for 13 months.
Yes Tempstar that is the time.Even more worrying is that the do not weed out the bad apples, because the have not enough personal! And it looks like the spent 60% of there working hours to ass covering. And the higher the get, the more time spend and the more political it get.
Let the guy levitate in the sand. It's probably much easier to disguise his anchor point. Go fight a real crime.
Some people, even cops are lazy. They will choose the easy tasks over that which requires more effort. They will find places where they don't have to do or produce anything to get a paycheck. My guess is that these guys were on beach patrol for a reason...
Exactly, harass some honest citizen or fight crime by going after crack heads, pimps, thieves , etc., and the honest citizen gets it every time. PLUS they have to criminalize the honest citizen to get them in the system and make money for the state, which arresting actual criminals doesn't.
