As I have a son in Space Force, I get a lot of questions asked about this new branch and what it does. The link should answer many questions y'all may have. https://www.airuniversity.af.edu/Po.../AU-18_Space_Primer_2023_.pdf?mibextid=kdkkhi
I heard that China has laid claim to Mars and considers it to be under it's sphere of control. That should be interesting!
By the time China gets there Musk will have a Tesla plant there in full production. They will probably arrive on his commercial spaceflight service.
the Space Force was supposed to be gone by now - Biden and the DNC was going to dissolve it immediately - the Pentagon brass came up the military branch necessity - but Prez Trump caught the flack - for whatever reason - ??? the USAF originated from splitting off from the Army - branch to concentrate on the new technology of post-WW2 air warfare - and the USAF has been dealing with the military needs outside of NASA - why not roll all the space oriented military into a specific branch?
The impetus for a space oriented branch started under Reagan. The internal argument lasted all this time but the need always grew until arguments became moot.
I guess Ronnie figured he needed a Star Trekian "Starfleet" to compliment Star Wars. Once they finally get real "starships" operating, will they retain an Airforce style rank structure, or change to a Navy style rank structure?
