I'm guessing many people purposefully ignore this, but tough times are coming and buying a house you can barely afford is not a good plan. That's why you can see the stress on people's faces often. I drove big rigs for years so if I can sleep in a truck sleeper my home doesn't need to be very big. They also tax you based on the size of your home. I don't need a mansion to impress others.
