COLUMBIA — Gov. Henry McMaster today signed legislation making South Carolina the 29th state in the nation allowing residents to carry handguns without a permit. The bill, fought over for weeks in the Statehouse, represents the largest expansion of gun rights in South Carolina since the state allowed the open carry of handguns for permitted gun owners three years ago.
Congrats! We've enjoyed that right in Arizona since 2010. None of the mouth-frothing gun haters' predictions came true, no bloodbaths as a result of fender benders, etc.
I really thought the A-holes and show-offs would start packing 3 years ago, but I have only seen one guy open carrying since that bill passed.

I was still living in Texas, when they passed the open carry law. You're welcome to carry openly.....but most people who already had a concealed handgun license elected to continue doing so. Nothing says, "Make me a target", to a bad guy, than when they walk into the 7-11 they're planning on robbing, and seeing a pistol on someone's hip.
