The Power of Observation I don’t know this guy from Adam but I stumbled upon this article. This is a skill I think I’m pretty decent at. Being an introvert has some advantages. Lol. The Finlander used to call it “People Watching.” When I was young I thought it was stupid of course. Now it’s like a game. I’m often thinking like “I knew something was up” with someone and predicting the future is sometimes easy as pie. Post your thoughts if you like.
I’ll take your word for it. I’m not cut out for that particular street. Not even with the free show. Well whatever the beads cost. Besides I’ve watched The Mardi Gras special on Cops. Lol.
If you watch and listen with an open mind, the answers and facts will show them selves. If you jump to conclusions you will often jump in the wrong direction.
You can tell so much by simply observing folks, what they are wearing, body language, shoes, hair, hats, smell, ect.... There is much you can learn if you take the time to see!
Bring a camera,Beads are a plus. You have to remember one thing,Most of those gals whipping out dem tetons are out of staters!
My great Uncle used to sit at the mall daily and just watch people. Sometimes I would stop by and sit with him and he would make observations about people like he knew them personally, and was generally right. I will never forget when he once said "Watch that lady, she is going to pick her nose in a minute". Sure enough, this prim and proper looking older woman glanced around and then dug for the gold, and wiped whatever she found on the shopping cart. That day I learned you can tell a lot about people by watching them when they don't realize they are being watched, and never, ever use a shopping cart.
This skill translates to driving too. Looking looking. Anticipating their moves with subtle clues. If it’s a “Ricer” you need to give a lot of space, double it if the exhaust is loud. Young ladies make up a large portion of aggressive drivers. Ladies make up a large portion of drivers that think the stop bar is where you start to apply your breaks. I find semi-truck drivers to be quite safe as a whole. Box truck drivers are some of the very worst. Give them space. There are many more categories to watch out for. Commuting gets boring, can you tell? Lol. (Please forgive any offensive content. Just observations)
Caggers are especially dangerous, to defuse their danger a bit you observe their front wheel. Most watch the front fender for lane changes but to do so means by simply physics you will be too late.
Cagger A person who drives a (cage) car, pick up or other GP vehicle whose main intent seems to be to Maim or Kill Motorcycle Riders. They never know what a turn signal or rear view mirror was made for, and they have a bad case of tunnel vision and are blind about motorcycles on the road.
Watch out for Little Old Ladies in big luxury cars. They think they are the only car on the road and drive as such. If she wants that bit of spacetime you occupy, she will slide right into it. Been there, had it done to me too many times. Rednecks in big pickup trucks ot utes are just as bad.
Been riding motorcycles for around 40+ years ,, and on the road , you really have to watch them cagers,,, back in my teens , I learned that if I was coming to an intersection and a car was sitting there , looking to make a turn or cross the street ,, I would try to look in their eyes to see if they actually see me ,, and always watch my sides and rear as you always need to have an escape route. I'll watch people in stores , public ,, and its amazing how many people have no idea of what is around them ,, they have no sense of security ,, half of them you could follow them all the way to their front door before they knew you were there.
Watching some of them with grocery store carts, you have to wonder if driving really is in their skill set. Fact is, I follow one (bleeping presumed female) home after she cut me off, pulled right up behind her and blocked the door closer. Had a fit she did, threatened to call the cops. I told her she was under a citizen's arrest for driving to endanger. Meek response to that.
Bad drivers are only half of it. What scares me most is that I see the condition of there cars! Bad brakes, loose steering, bad struts and more dash warning lights on than a Christmas tree. Wonder how they even got to the shop much less drive off after a cheap oil change.
Tweakers won’t maintain for obvious reasons. Watch them driving for sure. Watch them when they’re out. What a waste they are.
My observation of nuns and those wearing dog collars who are driving, encourage me to give them a wide birth....folk who believe that the afterlife is better than the present life in this world make me worried that they will take me with them....thinking paradise is their destination
