bouncin around the net... clicked on some email links... not sure how it happened... got a message... windows 003 IIRC? said I had to follow the directions that would be given exactly... looked odd... was not sure it was actually windows... could not leave page however... did nothing... just shut down browser... waited a bit brought it back up... same message... hmmm... so shut down/restarted comp... that seemed to clear it... has not returned... I would think a windows error would return... Oh was using seamonkey... also use firefox part of the time and the one that comes with windows...
please make sure you are always using the latest version of firefox, currently version 69.0.1+ as of [ 09/2019 ] or the latest chrome. please do not use edge and never use internet explorer.
Sounds like a new twist on the old scam of running a program for them that allows them to take over your computer. The old one started with a phone call. I would act like I was old (which I am) and string them along for 20 or 30 minutes. Boy would they get mad when they found out I was scamming the scammer.
Tell them to call you back (give them the local sheriff's office number) 'cause you are in the middle of the greenapple quicksteps.
