A trip to the island nation of Singapore Part of a larger planned and under construction garden spot.
Check with ghrit, he lived and worked there for two years. Well worth the trip, he said, but a pricey place.
I had an offer to be stationed there as part of a small support unit The local govt would have picked up the tab. Took a pass as the kids were still in school.
You blew it. The American School was top shelf, may still be. Had an Aussie mate that sent his kids there instead of the Aussie school. HOT and HUMID for sure. Now, I have to admit that I was very nervous about signing that contract, so I know where you were coming from. But it sure worked out more than a bit of well. We had to pay our own way, but we were well paid to do so.
I've never been there. Really never had a desire to go but heard it was an extremely interesting place. Thinking about it, I can't think of many places that I truly would like to see that I haven't been. Lately, I have been interested in seeing Iceland and Finland, especially Finland, not sure why... And, now that I don't have a clearance, the next time I go to Central Asia to see family, I want to pop over to see China too.
