I found this article today and thought it was of tactical value. Even though my EDC consists of multiple flashlights, tools, and knives that have clips they're all inside my pockets or facing backwards on an aluminum pocket protector backing. In my case, it wasn't an attempt at concealment, but to prevent damage to paint and upholstery. Finding an extra stealth benefit is nice. First the article from The Tactical Hermit. No Clips on Pockets The way I carry works with my everyday trousers because the K55K goes in a smaller pocket inside my right cargo pocket and the lanyard attaches to the front pocket snap. It's so narrow it never gets noticed. (Left cargo pocket has a zippered pouch attached the same way with my extra car and house keys, cash, fire starter, eye glass cleaners, tooth picks and some cordage.) The Kershaw is an assisted opener and rides on the purple belt lanyard about midway inside my left front pocket. (No, it won't open inside the pocket. The blade lock was neutered as soon as I noticed it. Why would I want a one handed opening knife that won't open? ) I can pick out change or keys from the pocket without disturbing the knife. It's rigged upside down for left handed opening. The flat ring in the pocket clip will flip inside the clip and pop right off when the paracord lanyard is pulled. (unless it's tangled, but I can feel that in the pocket) Both knives have wrist lanyards with double fisherman knots to adjust them. I use them to prevent dropping a knife overboard on a boat, but when they're on your wrist nobody can take your knife away, and if you need the hand free you retain the knife. Deploying the Kershaw makes a "Snik-Snik" sound as the ring clears the clip and the blade flicks opens. You can slip the lanyard over your wrist inside the pocket, and when you pull it out you find that the knife falls exactly where it needs to be to hit the opener and have the knife in your grip. I've practiced it for many years, and it's always been very fast. The K55K is slow, silent and shaving sharp. Sometimes that's just what's needed.
I wear a pull over sweat without a hoodie. All my junk is under that black / Dark blue pull over . My CC is ankle and under slung left pit. Being old and gray , kinda just move between. S
It was almost 80 here today, so my style is more bowling and Hawaiian shirts. They serve the same purpose as your pull over, hiding my gun. All my sidearms have shrunk over the years and round count has dropped from 45 to as few as five. In my AO, that feels comfortable. In Atlanta I carry a different rig.
A couple Spyderco folders I EDC. I like one in my pocket without a clip as a backup. I have to have a deep pocket clip, and this one is about as good as the deepest clips, and that would be SOG. I've got quite a few SOG blades, but since I got this Spyderco Paramilitary lightweight model -it's the only one I run with. Oh, give me a break. There's an ice storm up here tomorrow...gonna be fun trying to get to work.
I quit Spyderco. I have probably 10 Enduras with broken off pocket clips. They did start the whole pocket clip thing as I remember.
(Knock on wood)... I haven't lost a pocket knife or EDC pouch since I started dummy cording everything on and carrying them inside my pockets. For that reason, I've retired all my older folders that don't have a lanyard loop.
I was a sail-boater for years , till I got too old . @gii shi kan dug https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081YV4CJJ/?tag=survivalmonke-20
Going into a theater, they preferred that I wore the knife in my pocket being it might be possible for some ne to take it otherwise from the outside.
