My brother-in-law made me a knife for Christmas. I like it so much I hate to even wear it, I am hard on knives. He said to use it, he wants to see how it will hold up.
Nice looking knife . I bought a couple knives similar to that about 9 months or so ago and am like you , rough on knives and don't want to mess them up .
I seem to lose more than my share of knives.. I am better now but I am looking to the day I actualy wear one out..
I really like that knife. He give you any material info? Type of steel and wood? You would be doing him a big favor by using it. As a knife maker it's important for me to know how my knives perform. Things like edge retention. Ease of sharpening. Toughness. Does the handle feel comfortable? Any hot spots after using it for a while? I hate the thought of one of my knives sitting in a drawer unused.
I got a sweet SpyderCo from my daughter and SIL. I’m still not even from rescuing him in Wyoming a few years ago but it’s getting closer.
That looks just like a knife we have, same handle and length. The boy just sharpened ours again. I love using that knife.
