What state is your sister? We have large herds around here of those elk in North Idaho. We get a few around our house each year, even had a young moose this year visit us. Wife was mad as hell as they were eating the tops off her young aspen and maple trees.
We have elk in town, mostly seen at night. Javalina pigs, mountain lions, and many skunks are also in town. A while back, a tourist got killed trying to pet an elk. People are dumb.
