Big Island mountain apples are so sweet and juicy. They are my wife's favorite trail snack. One time I found a few trees and asked her if she wanted some. Of course she did. So I shook the trees and gathered about ten. Before I could bag them up to take home, she ate five already! "They are best on the trail when you are hot and thirsty." Can't argue with her there. Pretty much everything we graze on the trail gives us a boost. The ones on Oahu are much dryer and more bland than these. These are sweet and juice is running down my hand.
