Monkeyman is apparently in Sabine to help out on one of my company's projects off-shore. I got this email from Jim Marcotte, one of our projects people and and a retired Coast Guard Commander/pilot, thought I would post it for your amusement. Captain Darrell, Met "monkey man" yesterday and took him down to sabine. He rode out to Lana on rhib-he didn't like it much (he took a pretty good pounding) Seems to be a pretty good guy-he was my helper today. But, I don't think he left the farm much or went too far from it. Regards, Jim
What you didn't issue him a pair of sea legs. My first night on a ship we went through a cyclon, 25 to 30' waves can be hell on a landluber OGM
Yeah, I rode a crewboat out once when it was too rough for the helicopters to fly. Not bad in the Intercoastal, but I quickly learned why everything was bolted down. I didn't have any problems in the ride, but timing the jump to get on the ring to get off the boat was quite interesting with the boat heaving up and down 14 or 15 feet.
A couple hours in a seaway, he'll either head for land or get his sealegs under him and enjoy it. Too rough to work, just go for the ride. Wheelman has his work cut out for him, tho'. Why, I remember ---
