You do nice work. Your knot is a variant of the common whipping knot. These may help. Common Whipping | How to make a Common Whipping | Rope Care Knots There is another version that starts with a loop full length. (The version I use most)
great handwork. suggestion. if you make more, film from side away from you. it will keep your hands from blocking view
I've used the same technique to attach guides to a fishing rod - the only difference is that you seal the knot with an epoxy or other finish to protect the threads. You can pass the line through the yellow pages to provide some drag and make the job a bit easier. I also like to make a loop from monofilament to pull the thread back through.
