Ka-Bar Dozier.

Years ago, I had access to government surplus, aka wasteful spending. That included TSA confiscated stuff. I would go there maybe once a month like a kid in a candy store. Got a Dozier among many other things. Gave it to my wife.

I would always tell her and my girls to always carry a knife. It took with my girls. Wife, not so much in the beginning. She now does.

In the early years, we were hiking and she did not carry a knife. She asked to use mine and proceeded to dig something out of the ground. That's what you use a digging stick for!!! So I got her all manner of good, but cheap knives. Moras, Opinel, SAKs, machetes... and the Dozier. I don't care if she digs with hers now. I just clean it off and sharpen. And on occasion, fix the little dings.
