Jerry Young, A penny for your thoughts.

Mr Young is out with another new book that is well worth reading for the entertainment and as usual gives you a lot to think about. He presents a new, at least to me, failure of civilization as we know it mode. Not to spoil the plot line, it fits in to our present divide between the liberals and conservatives and while he uses a couple of hooks to help the plot, it is not really unrealistic and in its broadest sense is as good of a description of the present day political and social climate as anyone has made and gives a strong hint as to what might cause the final failure of the inter relationships between the social, ethnic, racial, and economic groups in the USA. Am looking forward to other reader's take on this story. Usual moral and ethical style to his writing and while I strongly support it, it may be a little dated to some.

If anyone knows Jerry, they should probably tell him to remove the story from the forum he openly posted it on, months ago. Not sure who would be more ticked off over this, his publisher, or Amazon?

 

Jerry Young sounds very familiar. I checked on Amazon and he has many PAW/Dystopia books that he has written. Thanks for the heads up on a new author to check out.

 

I'm definitely a JDY fan. I've read a lot of his stories, and they never get dull.

I'm partway through his new book, and am enjoying it immensely.

He's one of the few authors I'd rather buy than scarf off the Net for free.

He deserves the kind of applause that rustles.

 

I just completed reading the Penny book.. Very good read and well put together..

All one has to do is go into the old threads on here and try using some of the linked pages, Youtube or other, and see just how much of the information that someone thought enough of to link, is now gone.. Forever? Perhaps not.. I am still discomforted by the loss of information.. Personally, I try to save anything that appears important to a hard drive.. Who knows when it may become important again to the monkeys..

The last time he and conversed his general outlook was that he wanted to share what he has written without restrictions. Sure, he appreciates the shekels, a lot, but he kept pretty much everything he had written also posted for free on the SB site.

 

Fair enough. I can certainly appreciate such a view.

Do note, I'm not knocking the guy. I've never spoken with him, in fact. Personally, I like the fact that I have been able to collect quite a number of his eBooks, due to his views on the matter.

 

Didn't think you were knocking him at all, just giving a little context. He and I conversed a bit when I was writing my first book. Unlike Chris, who has a publisher and can't leave it up anywhere for free.

My first one is up, in its entirety, on the SB site as a thank you for all the help they provided, encouragement and reviews...I had to wait until my enrollment in the Amazon exclusivity program ended before I could throw it back out there though.
