They really are, and we love them, Very much! This one thinks he is a Retriever and a lap dog, as well as bed hog! LOL Wife and I are looking for a Brand New Puppy, Naturally another Neufy! God help us! LOL

I think they average 140-160 lbs. In college I worked in a dog grooming shop on weekends. One of the clients brought in Nuffies for shaves once a year. We did the basic shave on the floor and they just rolled any way you pushed them, they just love TLC. Then it took 3 of us to put them in the tub. We eventually made stairs and had them walk up the stairs into the tub. They love baths too. Great dogs.!
SKIDDER weighs 230 pounds, and eats about 1 pound per feeding, twice a day! He is a giant amoung giants, but is a great big lover! He dosnt bark very much, which is kind of normal for the breed, but he is quite the talker, having full conversations with any one that will listen! Grooming is a chore, but enjoyable. If you take the time to care, its easier to do when its needed! Yes, there is Black Neufy hair all over every thing, and slobber stains! Though this Neufy dosnt slobber as much as some!
He loves to fly, but the plane is too small for him. He loves to go with my Buddy and I when said buddy brings his Helicopter, Skids loves to sit looking out the windows and watching the world go by! He also loves the boat, he loves to stand on the bow and watch the water as we motor around! Heat isn't good for him at all, any thing above 70 deg and he is not happy, and any humidity makes him miserable! Even summer time in Oregon, he needs ether air conditioning or a good breeze and lots of shade, preferably near a swimming pool or stream! Gawd does he love the water!
We had a mixed breed that looked t have some nuffie or malamute in him. When daughter brought him home, I swear he thought he was a lap dog @ 95lbs. After he grew up, we took him to the doggie parlor for a hair cut. Weighed him before, 130lbs. and after 100lbs. He loved to howl with one particular fire truck.
Neufy's are extremely protective and they will always get in the middle of things and try to help out, which can be big trouble! You have to be careful, they are a great big dog with tremendous strength,and they can really put a hurt on some one or some critter! They would take on a bear and have a better then even chance of coming out on top, so you have to be careful with them and train them to respond to your commands instantly!
Yeah... that a Bigggggg Newfie. i groom about 7 difrent ones at the moment but the bigest is probably around 155-160lbs My Mastiffs about 210-220lbs (but thats without the 30lbs of hair) Funny. Ive never gotten mugged, even walking in the dark..... Then there mr loudmouth... guess he thinks he has to make up for his size... turns out 85lb german sheperds dont look so big next to mastiffs lol
